I am a St. Louis based urban photographer. I love taking pictures, but more importantly, I love this city! My work focuses on capturing the beautiful people on our city and the spaces that we live in.
For booking inquiries, or fine art prints of anything you see on this page, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
On the surface, STLDK is dedicated to the street art and urban decay of the city of St. Louis... But the best way to describe what STLDK stands for is to talk about the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-sabi.... and the most straight forward way to do that is to quote the wikipedia entry:
Wabi-sabi represents a comprehensive Japanese world view or aesthetic centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete"
I've always believed that the beauty of our world is found in the tiny details - those tiny imperfections that make everything unique. photography here is visually a long way from the Ink-on-canvas artwork which introduced me to the term Wabi-sabi in college, but the philosophy is the same... It's a celebration of character and of natural beauty!
